The facility features four CCC crafted shelters along the White Rock Rim Trail that offer spectacular views. Overnight parking for the Ozark Highlands Trail access is available onsite. Many cross-country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities area available in this area.

Route 2 and Route 63 are part of the Commonwealth’s scenic by-way designation. Rocky Mountain Recreation is a beautiful area in Rome located close to the Chattahoochee National Forest and features 2 lakes with great fishing and a beach for swimming.
